Buttonwood Park Zoo, owned and operated by the City of New Bedford and supported in its endeavors by the Buttonwood Park Zoological Society, features a variety of animals native to Asia, Africa, Europe, North America, and South America. Buttonwood Park Zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and has been called “one of the finest small zoos in the United States” by that organization.

 

Valid for four (4) admission tickets free of charge. Library passes are not valid on Mondays and Saturdays, February and April school vacation weeks, or major holidays. Library passes are not valid for Zoo special events, such as Boo at the Zoo and the Spring Fling.

Major holidays include: Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presiden'ts Day, Easter, Mother's Day, Memorial Day, Father's Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Halloween, and Veteran's Day.
